Wood screws are the most frequently used woodworking fasteners. They are used primarily for connecting wood to wood and are known for the clamping force that they provide to strengthen a joint. They are also used to attach hardware, hinges, locks and other items to wood.
These screws were perfect, I used them to install rubber mats down stairs, and so far about 3 months now, I see no signs of rusting, so they seems to be good quality stainless steel screw.
I used these to install bumpers on pilings. I was able to screw in 52. However, 13 more broke off at about 3/4 inch into the piling. If they were only 1 inch long there might have been no broken ones, but I couldn’t find that size.
These stainless steel screws install almost flush with your project. The only minor issue is that the screw head is thin. So be careful not to strip out the Philps head. Nice product otherwise.
I refurbished a 76 year old Flexible Flyer sled & used these SS modified truss head screws to replace pan head screws that were uncomfortable to lie or sit on. These truss head screws have a 2 level wider but shorter head than pan head. These are comfortable, good looking & rust proof. Sled originally had nails but they had loosened & the sleds old white oak was too hard to drive nails in so I originally used pan head screws with proper pilot holes with screw major diameter holes in the slats & minor diameter holes in the frame. The pan head screws worked but could snag clothing etc. plus they were only galvanized.
#8 x 3/4" 304 Stainless Steel Phillips Modified Truss Head Wood Screws -- wish threads were more course ( larger pitch per axial distance ) for more holding power. Note # 2 phillips head screw bit is too large -- used smaller bit to screw in screws at slow speed so as not to strip screw head. None of screws broke when screwing through predrilled hardwood.
Living in a small town out local hardware store just can't stock every size and style of fastener. The brand they carry is "Hillman" and these fasteners seem every bit as good or better. My application didn't put a lot of stress on them but the heads held up to my impact driver (no stripped heads at all) and the stainless was mildly magnetic which implies decent quality. I'd buy these again...in fact I did in another size with equally good results.
Very good quality screws. I needed stainless wood screws with a wide, but low height, head for an exterior project joining sheet metal to wood. Bright and attractive.
Needed screws to attached rubber boat bumper to wooden post. Thought that I would need to use an electric drill/screwdriver. Did not need it. Screws are self tapping and went into wood using a hand screwdriver. Great product. Would definitely buy again.
Ability to grasp thearge head and turn in slowly. Along with toothed washers, I believe I have a winner. Also replacing 2 screw clamp per joint with these on my multiple hy-gain hf monobanders.
As a contractor on the Pacific Coast we have to use stainless steel if we want to limit the rust factor. Our company installs windows with the truss head screws and these fit the bill.
Excellent product at a good price. Used to fasten Lexan to treated wood for an outside application. Stainless steel was only material I would trust for this job!
